THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE YOUR NEXT VISIT TO YOUR FAVOURITE CALOUNDRA HAIRDRESSER
/As hairdressers, we have seen our fair share of do’s and don'ts from guests over the years. You may not realise it, but hairdressers tell you certain things for a reason. Not only for your sake, but for our sake and fellow clients sake too. So before you book your next appointment or rock up to your next salon visit, read the below tips and advice.
Shampoo Your Hair Before You Next Cut
Have you always wondered why your stylist washes your hair before your cut? When you book for a cut always make sure you wash your hair prior. The biggest mistake most clients make when coming in for their cut is coming in with dirty, product filled hair. We will insist we wash it for you, which yes will cost you more. Why? Because products causes our expensive equipment to rust and blunten which means we have to replace them more often. So, stay on your hairdressers good side and save some money by always shampooing your hair before your next haircut.
Space Out Your Hair Colour Visits
Every client is different when it comes to getting there hair done. But as a general rule, it is recommended to have your hair done every 4-6 weeks. This is long enough for the hair to grow and strengthen before the next colour service. It is not recommended to have your hair done any sooner as this may cause damage. If you’re not a big fan of waiting this long, you can come and get small touch up’s between visits (like T-Section foils or even a toner to make things feel fresh again).
Box Dye
Box dyes from supermarkets are a hairdressers worst nightmare. If you have used a box dye before you book into have your hair coloured with any hairdressers, ALWAYS let them know. Otherwise you will get more than you bargained for when they start adding your colour in. So if you don’t want orange or green hair, tell your stylist when booking. The service will be considered a colour correction service, as there are more steps (and time) required in order for them to get you to the colour you’re wanting to achieve.
Book In Your Style Cut
If you are wanting a style cut at the end of your colour service or treatment, make sure you book it in. Our stylist team will often have back to back guests booked in for the day, which means they most likely won’t have spare time at the end of your appointment to do an extra service. Even if you aren’t sure if you will want a cut on the day, book it in. You can always change your mind on the day, but if you do want it at least there will be allocated time for you.
Next time you’re ready to book and visit the salon, keep these little suggestions in mind to keep your hairdressing team happy as a blonde on tone day. For any questions please don't hesitate to ask our team at Bondi Lane over on Facebook Messenger or by email hello@bondilane.com.au
